Software Engineer

Location : Ghent, Belgium

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take ownership of the software user interface
  • Define the user experience of our product together with clinical and sales colleagues
  • Design, develop and test software related to the user interface of our products in an agile manner
  • Maintain and improve the software architecture together with other software engineers
  • Work with the following technologies on a daily basis: git, bash, WebSockets, Docker, Python, C++17, Qt/QML, CMake
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers
  • Brainstorm on finding innovative solutions to clinical problems

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor or Master in Computer Sciences, Bachelor of Engineering Technology in ICT or similar through experience
  • Passion for software development, eager to work on the user experience in a medical device
  • You have a can-do mentality
  • You are a team player
  • Knowledge of C++ through education / experience or personal interest
  • You are familiar with a Linux environment
  • You ideally have a notion of Qt/QML or other UI programming languages
  • Good understanding of today’s best practices in software development (i.e. version control, test-driven development, continuous integration, code reviews, …)
  • Knowledge of the IEC 62304 Medical Device software standard is a plus
