Mechanical Hardware Engineer
Location : Ghent, Belgium
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and improve Xeos’ library of designs and parts.
- Interface with manufacturing contractors to improve manufacturing and documentation processes.
- Develop future module designs for Xeos.
- Work with service and quality team to make continuous improvements to existing components.
- Collaborate with software engineers in developing automated test setups of mechanical submodules.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master of science in engineering technology with option mechanical - Bachelor in mechanical engineering - Master of science in mechanical engineering or similar through experience.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, mechanical tolerances, and mechanical drawings.
- Good working knowledge of Solidworks.
- Ability to understand and implement change management in a quality system.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both experts and non-experts.
- A thorough approach to work with strong attention to detail, and ability to develop independently.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience with PLM/PDM software.
- Understanding of machining, bending, and molding processes.
- Experience with the design of motion systems.
- Knowledge of 3D cable routing in CAD.
- Ability to drive design improvements related to design for manufacturing.
- Prior experience with imaging systems or related devices.
- Previous experience in the medical device industry.
- Experience with 3D-printed prototyping.
